Pick me up

Maddy loves to come running up to me with her arms out and her mouth wide, wide open. She is so exuberant! "Pick me up and give me loves, mama!!" I love this view, I will always have it in my heart when I think of her babyhood.

Here is a cute picture of Maddy with Gavin in the car a few weeks ago. They really enjoy each other.

Good luck trying to block Maddy from getting somewhere. We put some chairs at the top of the stairs at my parents and it took her about half a second to figure out how to go right through them. At least now she knows how to back down and climb up, but it is still scary to me that she might fall because, in true toddler style, her mind can go faster than her little legs can carry her.

Pacific Science Center

My parents and I split a membership to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. It also has reciprocal rights to OMSI here in Portland so that way we can visit both places for the next year. Maddy of course loved all the kids exhibits and wore herself out playing hard all day long. We especially enjoyed the butterfly room and the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit - I wish I had a little longer uninterrupted to really appreciate it, but I am glad I had the chance to see it even for a short time while running after miss wiggly pants.

Oktoberfest 2006

This weekend Maddy experienced her first Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel. We didn't go last year because Maddy was so brand new, so we had been looking forward to her getting to go this year. Look at the cute OFest dress Grammy made for her!

Fall is Here!

Maddy has discovered one of the first joys of fall... leaves!!! She wasn't so sure about being IN the leaves at first, but then started to really enjoy herself with all the crunching and crackling.

Here is Maddy with her buddy Joycelyn. They are so cute together I just want to dip them in hot fudge and eat them up. Don't let their blank stares fool you, they have a blast together. They are both totally go go girls.

I love my Aunt Rho

Maddy's "special aunt" Rho came to town for her birthday, but wasn't feeling good enough to come to the party yesterday afternoon, so we took the party over to her today instead.... they had a great time catching up and playing with Maddy's new birthday toys and especially the paper and ribbons.

Let's Luau!

Maddy turned one year old on Saturday September 2nd~ so we threw a great big luau to celebrate our little miracle's milestone. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE BABY GIRL!!!
