Easter 2007

We celebrated Easter by going to church and then heading down to Jason's Grandparents' house in Woodburn. Quite a few of Jason's mom's side of the family were gathered together. Maddy sort of got into her egg hunt with a lot of prompting and excited pointing and waving from her parental units. She was more interested in finding one and then opening and closing it over and over and over, totally oblivious to the ten or eleven more scattered about. It was so fun to see her trying to figure out how the eggs work, shaking the candy out because it was in the way. I guess her dentist will be glad for that -- except that she then ate about fourteen pounds of jellybeans back inside the house. In addition to the 20 or 30 olives she ate for lunch accompanied by some deviled egg a pickle and one very small piece of ham. That girl can really pack down the olives and pickles.... oh, I didn't get a picture of Maddy in her fluffy and fabulous Easter dress so you'll just have to take my word for it that she looked adorable. She even let us put a fluffy bow clip in her hair for about 3 seconds and for those 3 seconds she looked like marshmallow fluff from head to toe, all in all a wonderful Easter Sunday!

Microwave

We got a new microwave! It turned into quite an adventure trying to find one that Lowe's had in stock. This was our 3rd or 4th choice. I'm glad there were so many cupboards and drawers for Maddy to explore while we waited for the people to sort it all out at the store for us. We chose to go to Lowe's because we had a $10 off coupon and then of course totally forgot to redeem it. :) It took a really long time to figure out how to install it because of our funky kitchen. But it turned out great and the buttons work which is a vast improvement over the old one. Maddy had a blast with the packaging materials. She is so creative in her play - real life stuff like this keeps her busy for hours and hours.

Uncle Brian

Uncle Brian came for a visit from Colorado. He spent several days up in Seattle with my parents and then Maddy and I joined him and my Mom for a few days down in Philomath and a journey to the coast. Maddy absolutely loved spending time with her Uncle Brian. He is a bit wild and crazy and she totally goes nuts with all the positive energy he gives her. The weather at the beach was nice and sunny, but windy of course. Too windy for little eyes to be exposed to all the blowing sand, so we scooped up a bucket full and brought it home to Philomath for Maddy to dig around in.
