Maddy's First Spa Day

Today I gave the girls pedicures (I watch my friend's baby Morgan who is 16 months old on Thursdays along with Maddy - man I am tired after 9-10 hours of double duty....). They looked so adorable with their shiny red toes. Maddy was so fascinated that she actually sat still long enough for me to paint her little toenails. But, taking a picture of it was another story! I tell ya, I should upload video to this blog, that is the only way to really get a good shot of her, the girl is always in motion..... so here is a picture of her sassy little feet all dolled up.

Zoo Lights

Last week we went to zoo lights. The Oregon Zoo (thanks for the membership mom!!!) tranforms at Christmas time into a wintery wonderland full of lights. We took a train ride and Maddy was absolute enthralled with all the animals and lights and the magic of it all.

Fingerpaint

Maddy experimented with her new finger paints in the bath tub tonight. It didn't go exactly as we planned. First she was afraid of the paint, then she got interested, but then the tub was too cold for her to sit down in to reach the paint, then she got really into it (with a little help from mama showing her how), then her hands got too messy and she totally lost it. It was pretty funny, we thought she would go hogwild but she really didn't care for it much at all..... here is the progression in photos. I love how expressive her face is in the last one... no question at all as to how she is feeling!!!

Christmas in Mt. Angel

We celebrated Christmas in Mt. Angel last Saturday. Jason's sister Jenny, her husband Brad and their two kids Abigail and Suzanne were up from Medford and the cousins had a good time playing together.

I Still Believe

So here is proof that I should keep on believing and staying true to the little girl inside me. PROOF RIGHT HERE!

Zollner Zielinski Christmas!

Uncle BriBri and Auntie Lesley from Colorado (and Grandma and Grandpa Zielinski too) came to celebrate with us this weekend! Check out this picture of me with my auntie and uncle..... and carpo the family fish of course came along from Seattle to get in on the fun.

Twins!

We dressed Maddy and Alayna exactly alike, even down to the zoom baby gear all in one diaper the other day. Talk about double cuteness, now I know why parents of multiples think it is so fun to dress their babies alike. Alayna got a lot of squeezes, hugs, kisses and pats to her face (whether she wanted them or not).... she is irresistible to Maddy! Can't you see why?

New Bed

We play musical beds in our family. Maddy has slept in just about every possible bed/couch/cradle/crib in our house. Actually, she hated the crib and did the opposite of sleeping in it... to tell the truth so we all vetoed that idea pretty darn quickly. Her toddler room is *almost* done, but in the meantime we decided to "graduate" her into a toddler bed in the corner of our room. Most recently, she has been sleeping in the guest room and that has been working out fine, but we'd like to get her used to the little bed for when we move it into her toddler room. And it frees up the computer for me at night without worrying about waking her up. Hence all the posts to this blog all at once. Just a bit more paint and woodwork and it will be ready for her. Note the cute firefighter theme that I was able to scrounge together on ebay and craigslist of an old Pottery Barn Kids pattern. I love it!

Red Hatter

I just love this photo. It looks exactly like her 3 month picture we had taken at Penny's last Christmas, same angle, same dimples, same color red she is wearing.... I wish I could scan it in to our computer but you'll just have to take my word for it that she still looks like the same adorable Maddy.

Fun New Toys

I bought Maddy these fun climbing blocks, arches and balls at Costco. She is having a blast with them! She loves to wriggle through the arch on her belly and play peek a boo over and under it.

Christmas Tree Hunt

Today we went to hunt for the perfect Christmas tree. Maddy loved stomping in all the mud and touching all the needles on the trees. Now for the decorating experiment, should we decorate the top only or let her make a total mess with what she can reach. I kind of vote for letting her go whole hog and destroy it just because it is so much fun when you are 15 months old!
