Laughter is good for you

This post makes me laugh so hard... I love this lady's blog, she is a bit vulgar at times, but I love love love love love how real she is. One of my favorite blogs to unwind with, she always makes me smile or laugh or think about life and get perspective. Enjoy!

Bald is Beautiful

I love how her head shines in the sunlight. She actually is getting some hair, but it is head colored so it kind of blends in. But up close she really does have some that we are quite proud of!

Journey to Seattle

Maddy and I spent the past 5 days up in Seattle visiting family. My brother has been out in Colorado for the past couple months and he came back this weekend to help Lesley (his wife, my sistah!) move out to join him. We also got to see some friends while we were there, and the Gobbo's gave Maddy some great outside toys. A slide, a house with a slide, and a little car that she absolutely adores. We strapped her in and she grabbed the wheel and steered like she's been doing it her whole life. She looks like a little grown up cruising the yard in her pimpin' ride.

Father of the Year

Happy Father's Day Jason! Here is the man of our house playing with his new toy, a hedge trimmer that somehow found its way home from the store when I was out shopping yesterday. He has been talking about one for weeks and today he had fun trying it out trimming all the overgrown arborvitae in the backyard. It looks amazingly different when it is trimmed properly. Maddy was her usual helpful self, carefully inspecting the ladder and branches and bags of trimmings. We couldn't have done it without her!

Mama Megan

Today Maddy and I went to our friend Megan's baby shower. It was a surprise and she was pretty shocked to see her co-workers and her family and the two of us there to celebrate for her. She is having a girl, Odessa, in mid-July at home. Her mom Shirley is my Mom's best friend from Boise and Megan and I grew up together. We now both live in Portland, what a small world! She and her husband Larry are so much fun and we love to hang out with them, and now we will be mamas together! Shirley lives in Portland now too and is a midwife. She is going to be assisting Megan at home, they even have a birthing tub all ready to go to help her labor. I am hoping to be able to help out when the excitement begins.... it seems like just yesterday they were seeing tiny brand new baby Maddy for the first time and now it is their turn. I know it will be such a beautiful and peaceful day for them.

Snap Crackle Pop

I went to the chiropractor today and it felt wonderful! I have been having a lot of neck and headache issues, probably from all the funky positions I am in all day long as a nursing mama. My chiropractor is the best around. He has a daughter named Eliot who is the same age as Maddy and they have her there in the office most days so they get to play and hang out and chew on each other while I am getting cracked. They are doing all of the same cute things right now. We think it is funny that they are Jason and Melissa with a 9 month old baby girl and we are Jason and Melissa with a 9 month old baby girl. We must have some super stellar cosmic connection or something... Melissa (the other one) snapped this picture on her laptop while the girls were exploring. And I took the shot from the other angle. Too cute!

Adrenaline Junkie

The higher and faster she flies, the happier she is! She is lucky to have such a fun Grandma who gets her giddy with excitement... my Mom can get even the most mellow baby riled up and ready to play... since Maddy is kind of wild to begin with they really have a lot of fun together.

Alayna is here!

I had the incredible joy of being part of welcoming Alayna Patricia Harris into this world on Sunday night. What an amazing miracle birth is! Krista was incredibly strong during her 22 hour natural childbirth. She demonstrated so much endurance, faith and tenacity, believing in herself and her ability to give birth naturally. What a woman!!! I am totally in awe of her. Alayna is absolutely gorgeous, she weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and is perfect in every way. She has a head chock full of glorious dark hair... what a beauty!
