Hon???

Maddy is a very resourceful, persistent individual. The other day I got her all set up in her room with a pile full of clothes to put on hangers (yes, she really does love this for some unfathomable reason) so that I could go nurse Karis to sleep. After a few minutes she starts yelling over and over and over "Mama!! Mom!! Mo-ooooooooom!!Mama!! Mama! Mine need help please Mommmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy". Then after several moments of silence as she realizes she is not getting a response and I have not appeared, she decides to pull out the big guns and yells "Hey, Hon! Hon! Ho-on!!" I guess if it works for daddy she figures it would work for her too.

Cade and Maddy and Gavin and Alayna

gav and maddy playing tickle monster at the hospital, they were LOUD and laughing hysterically
alayna and maddy playing with the gloves at the hospital, more giggling and girl-type silliness
my new little man and his gorgeous mama
close up of Cade in a milk coma

Sprinkler

Is there ANYTHING better on a hot day than running naked through the sprinklers? there were so many more cute ones, but I thought I should probably not put pictures of her hoo-ha on the internet....

Karis can sit up

this is how you clap
here let me show you
being cute with dad, around 5 months in this picture
covered in clothes (AGAIN)
sitting up, but the BEST PART is in the top right corner, check out Maddysitting up, view from the trampoline
so excited to sit up unsupported, a week or so ago

And scoot and almost crawl too! She is blowing us away with her strength and mobility, so fun to watch her grow!

Beachin' It

for lunch I'll have some thumb with a side of sand, please...

i really hate those waves, can't you make them stop coming?
look! I exist!!! I have my faithful ergo and sidekick along too....
chunkachunkabeachyfabulousness!!

don't feed the seagulls, but keep the toddler full at all times!

checking it out when we first arrive at Cannon Beach (where Jason proposed to me)
first wave! (and last, this totally freaked her out)
under the umbrella to protect that baby smooth perfect skin
one more brave toe test before deciding she was done with the waves for good
throw sand (just to show the waves who is boss??)

We took a day trip to the beach last Friday. It was a perfectly glorious day and we all came home happy and sandy. Karis turned six months old this day!

Family Hike

looky looky! It is a picture of me and Karis to the right of the falls, we are the second blur over....
look! AGAIN I exist!!! of course the stranger offering to take a picture of the whole family sent Maddy into a fit of shyness, but LOOK I EXIST IN A FAMILY PICTURE!!!!!!!!!

look closely to the right of the falls, you'll see Jason and Maddy

We took advantage of the super hot weather in Portland last week to go on a family hike to Horsetail Falls....it is about a half hour drive..... the weather in the mountains next to the gorge was cooler than in the city and the shade helped us beat the heat. But, yeah, we were hot and sweaty on the way home.

New Hiding Spot

Today Maddy asked me, "Mine hide mama's keys please?" and I smiled and said, "Sure, find a really good spot!" and she did. She promptly ran to her room, crawled under her bed, lifted the vent cover, dropped the keys inside and closed the cover back up. Well, there you go - she found a really really really good spot, didn't she? I am now wondering what else lives down there.....

Park Days Here Again.... FINALLY!

upside down

cute as cute can be!

ridiculously cute

Maddy loves to hide KK under a pile of clothes and then make a "gate" all the way around her with toys and whatever else she can find. This is literally a good hours worth of entertainment.

nursing on the go! so sneaky!

swinging, not so sure if this is fun or not....

feeding the ducks pretzel sticks

swinging, very very sure that this is great fun (look at those skinny legs from being so sick, she lost almost 3 pounds being so sick for just a few days, yowza! somebody get this girl some peanut butter and avocado's!!)

look at my feet! after Maddy is done hiding KK, she always wants to snuggle in and have me hide them together
laughing at big sister -- can you see that she is pulling her knees up under her?? ack, crawling is coming!!!

one last shot of super cuteness

Finally the weather is beautiful! Here are some pictures of the girls from the past week. Maddy is starting to get back to herself again today.... we are so thankful that she is healthy and going to be okay....we are really looking forward to our summer adventures outside, especially since KK is scooting around and threatening to figure out how to crawl. Then I will really know the meaning of the word busy, right?!

Spring Fever

Maddy has been super sick, like 105 degree temperature sick. But, after two days of tests, phone calls, hospital visits, x-rays, blood draws, cultures, waiting rooms and panicked mama syndrome, we have determined that she does NOT have pneumonia, appendicitis, strep throat, gastrointestinal problems, urinary tract infection or anything that makes sense of this crazy roustabout of random symptoms. But Jason has figured it out, Maddy has spring fever and that is the most logical answer we've heard in days. And she is sleeping sweetly, snuggled in mama's bed and we're just hoping tomorrow will be a brighter and all will be well.
